Sometimes wigs cost the same as a haircut, so I like to get wigs. But if you are okay with getting it cut and it's cheaper, then i would go that way. Luckily Haruhi's hair is not hard to find in wig form, but for some styles a haircut is best. That's why I just used my real hair for my Kaido Kio cosplay. As for tie-tying, I learned from this website, with no help from my father whatsoever! Actually I've found that more girls seem to know how to tie them than guys. X3

I have a wig for my Haruhi cosplay, but that's only because my hair has body and loves to curl and not stay straight. As for the tie I do the Windsor Knot. I just watched Tamaki do it a few times and I picked it up. But she did do it for me a few times. As for the long hair wigs...I'm not sure, but I'm sure if you wait Tamaki and Kyouya may have something to say on that subject. Just give them some time and they will tell you. They are very busy people.

Other than a bow tie, all the ways of tying ties look the same, as far as I can tell. The only difference is in the technique. So really it's whatever is easiest for you. I'm not sure, but I think perhaps the more complex knots are meant for more formal occasions, though it probably doesn't even matter now (whereas it may have mattered many years ago when the knots originated).

I'm not sure, but I think perhaps the more complex knots are meant for more formal occasions, though it probably doesn't even matter now (whereas it may have mattered many years ago when the knots originated). DO NOT BE FOOLED! ALL TIE-TYING TECHNIQUES ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL! Okay, let's calm down. Really, the only reason there are different knots is to alter the width of the final knot. Some knots are slimmer than others, and therefore have a different aesthetic effect on both your shirt and your neck. As I have a long and slender neck, I tend to wear a Full Windsor knot. It's also a knot that I prefer to do for other people because it's very balanced. The worst knot (balance-wise) from that website is undoubtedly the Four in Hand - there's barely anything holding it together. I want to rename it the 'Late for the Boardroom' knot. On the hair question, if your hair is very curly and difficult to tame, I will always be a proponent of wigs. However, if you have a lot of hair, you may want to get a bit of a hair cut to decrease the volume of hair you have to stick in the wig. Also, I suggest investing in bobby pins! They work wonders at holding your hair in place. I've forgotten - do you tend to overheat in a wig?
